My opinion on Sybotanica
Share
Sybotanica is a Dutch brand of substrates for indoor plants, which offers ready-to-use substrates via its e-shop, as well as raw elements so that you can make your own substrates.
This brand is becoming more and more well-known on social networks and I wanted to have my own experience :) I'll share everything with you in this article!
I only ordered items raw because I like to make my own mixtures, adapted to my plants and my cultivation method. So I will not give you my opinion on the different ready-to-use substrates in this article since I have not tested them. On the other hand, I can tell you that one of Sybotanica's commitments is not to use peat in its substrates, because its use is controversial for ecological reasons. Thus, the peat is replaced by coconut fiber.
For this first test, I bought 36L of live sphagnum moss (called Sphagnum moss premium on the site), 9L of coconut husk and a batch of 5 biosourced stakes (made from potato peelings), to a total of €72.93 .
Delivery
Firstly, I was pleasantly surprised by the speed of shipping and delivery, it was less than 48 hours from the time I placed the order to the time I received it! In addition, delivery is free from 50 euros of purchase.
Products
The majority of substrates are delivered in 3 to 5L packaging, even if you take a larger quantity. For example, for the 9L of coconut husk ordered, I received 3 bags of 3L. This can be seen as a disadvantage if you order a large liter of these products, because you will receive lots of small bags. Conversely, if you have little space for storage or small needs, it's perfect!
On the other hand, in the case of live sphagnum moss, the packaging of the 36L is indeed a huge bundle! And that's great for me :) I have room to store, and I prefer to limit packaging.
Finally, regarding the tutors, I took them because I found the concept very nice. Beyond the fact that they are eco-designed, they can be extended/enlarged. So no need to change tutors when your plant grows, just lengthen it ;)
Another advantage of being made of potato skin is that the stakes are super light, so there is no risk of your pots tipping over under the weight of the stakes.
Conclusion
You will have understood, I am very happy with my experience at Sybotanica. And I can only recommend that you also try the experience. I was very happy to find live sphagina in large quantities and coconut chips which are products that I find are not very easy to find.
